Esoteric artist and comedienne Deven Green gives great fashion face; new book out now
Modern satirist, singer-songwriter, and occasional ukelele-player Deven Green has plucked another feather for her cap (cluck, cluck) and that’s publishing brilliantly satiric books.
Last year’s Everyone Fuck Off (co-penned with partner-in-rhyme Ned Douglas) doubled up as handsome coffee table decor and a great guide to getting your frustrations out (get it on Amazon).
This year, there’s more punch and juicy in livre numéro deux (that’s book number two, darlings). The title is Bitch Face and it’s been hotter in anticipation than Anna Wintour’s September issue.
Green teams up with Douglas once more to deliver a hilarious compilation of iconic phrases from their various shows and videos, accompanied by classy and sassy illustrations.
Each illustrated portrait looks like it could have been torn out of the pages of a 1950s Photoplay magazine or 1960s Vogue, suffice to say these muses give good face. And Deven always gives great quote.
Keep your copy contact-free so as to see it rise in value on eBay in ten years’ time, or frame the artworks for wall candy in the kitchen and bathroom.
Either way, these arty works make for great conversation starters.
