Monet in Paris has its Perth season extended to March 10 and all we can say is ‘Merveilleuse!’

Perth audiences love their immersive art experiences. A couple of years ago it was the work of Vincent van Gogh that enraptured the city’s art-loving folk, and last year we were greeted by the beauty of Monet in Paris at Le Grand Palais, Crown Theatre.
If you happened to have missed it, there’s good news as the immersive exhibition Monet in Paris has been extended until March 10, 2024.
The exhibition welcomes you on a spellbinding journey through the vibrant world of French Impressionism and in particular to through the work of key impressionist artist Claude Monet, with colour and detail so vivid you’ll want your phone camera at the ready at all times.

Monet and the Impressionists began filling canvases with sheer beauty from about the mid 19th century right through to the early 20th century. Monet, in particular, had a revolutionary approach to capturing light and colour, leaving a profound impact on the art world. A critic’s review of his painting ‘Impression, Sunrise’ inadvertently gave the movement its name.
This art space sees sensory immersive technology utilised to its fullest effect, offering a unique visual and audio tour that incorporates up to forty high-definition projectors, multi-channel motion graphics and cinema quality surround sound.
The final result is one of the most exciting multi-screen environments we’ve seen. Huge crystal-clear images, so real you want to touch them, illuminate a vast array of screens and surfaces specially tailored to the experience space.

Breathtaking paintings are projected on an enormous scale, illuminating the bold brushstrokes of Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas and many more. In a rich, dynamic display of light, colour, sound and fragrance, the masterpieces of the Impressionists come to life. There are small bridges projected onto the ground which you feel like you’re actually walking across, and big physical bridges where you can take your portrait on.
