THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

Electric Island on Cottesloe Beach proved music festivals are very much alive and well

While the east coast has been experiencing stormy weather, in the west you’d think it was still summer peak. And 35-degree days over the last weekend meant temperatures were perfect for the Electric Island music festival, held on one of WA’s best coastlines, Cottesloe Beach.

On Saturday, punters revelled in the eclectic sounds of DJs Sonny Fodera, Christoph, Ferreck Dawn, Little Fritter, the Yorp DJs and a special set by Sydney groovers, Sneaky Sound System.

On Sunday, the DJ bill was laden with legend, the bill featuring Roger Sanchez, Armand van Helden, Sasha, Franky Wah and Kristen Knight.

The sun stayed high in the sky way into the afternoon, the beats were continuous, and the crowds enjoyed a host of fresh and classic music from late 1990s house right through to progressive EDM, spun by some of the world’s best DJs.
