THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

All quiet on the acting front so Perth’s Dacre Montgomery puts his best fashion face forward

Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery is having it pretty quiet on the acting front lately, last seen playing Elvis’ producer in a Baz Luhrmann musical biopic. The last time we saw the actor in Stranger Things was in a guest role as bad boy Billy Hargrove in Season 4. Both these appearances were in 2022 – when it looked like Dacre was about to enjoy a huge career in Hollywood. But then the actors strike happened and blah-blah-blah.

While there is talk of a new horror movie in the works, Faces Of Death, there’s no other news of projects on celluloid or television.

So what’s a lad to do in a post-pandemic, pro-AI, dried-up acting world? Turn his good looks back to the world of modelling, of course.

Dacre is now brand ambassador for men’s fashion brand Politix, appearing in a host of the label’s latest campaigns and look-books. In fact, he featured in some previous Politix marketing, one campaign in 2023 seeing his likeness doubled up in some shots. After all, two Dacres have got to be even better than one!

Dacre Montgomery x two from a fashion campaign for Aussie brand Politix last year.

The new campaign sees our local spunk-rat don suede trucker jackets, merino wool rollnecks and suits, and other cosy threads for our oncoming Australian winter.

Says Dacre about his latest stint in modelling, “It’s a privilege to continue my journey with [Politix] and to be a part of a campaign that aligns with the values I stand for. Now more than ever, it’s so important to embrace authenticity and advocate for positive change.” And for a positive pay cheque, I’m sure.

Born Dacre Kayd Montgomery-Harvey, the 30-year-old actor also appeared as Jason Scott in the 2017 action film Power Rangers and released a podcast in 2019 titled DKMH which features his own poetry.
