It’s International Burger Day: a couple of yummy deals for you, then

As if we didn’t have enough occasions to key into our calendars, now there’s a host of commemorative food-related days to contend with. But we’re not complaining, really.
Today, for example, is International Burger Day – in celebration of the humble hamburger. At least they used to be humble. Today’s burgers are bigger, bolder and packed with more ingredients than you could fit into any ordinary sandwich. And, heck, who are we to pretend we don’t enjoy scoffing the occasional triple quarter pounder or double chicken deluxe now and then?
It’s not clear why May 28 is the date we celebrate International Hamburger Day but since we don’t mind indulging in a Grill’d, Big Mac or Tendercrisp burger on occasion, we’re just going to go with it.
Keep in mind, of course, that burgers are not all fast fast food. Some burger favourites are taking their healthy cues so seriously, they’re appointing reputable chefs to overlook menus, like Grill’d recently bringing in culinary maestro Matt Wilkinson as a key consultant.
Other burger businesses are celebrating today by offering customers bumper value deals, like Betty’s Burgers which is offering $15 meals at all of their stores, and burger chain YOMG who’ll be serving $6.90 YO MY burgers all day. On more of the faster food chain, KFC is offering free delivery on its burger meals, so check out this and, other good burgery stuff available throughout the day.
What better excuse to avoid cooking tonight?
