THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

Mandatory Twisted: the must-have RTD bevvy that’s eco-conscious and simply delish

Gosh, I remember the days when the only RTD (ready-to-drink) alcoholic bevvy was in the form of a UDL – me and my best buddies crammed into the back of a four-wheel-drive at one of Perth’s last ever drive-ins, sipping voddie or gin or bourbon from a can mixed with goodness knows what.

How times have changed. I still enjoy the occasional RTD, but I think the days of getting drunk at the drive-ins are well past me.

Instead, just last week, I found myself sneaking into a theatre show with two cartons of a delicious new drink called Mandatory Twisted – one for me (Passionfruit Vodka Punch) and one for my plus-one (Dark Fruits Vodka). The cartons are so compact and convenient that the ticket girl had no idea these blissful beverages were in my bag.

It’s the first time I’ve sampled these bevvies and in two words, they’re refreshing and simply delicious. To extrapolate on that description, the tart passionfruit flavour is well balanced by the vodka punch base, while the dark fruits version really shows off a blissful mix of berries including blueberry, blackberry and dark cherry.

Mandatory Twisted by Queensland-based Mandatory Spirits Co. are the world’s first resealable RTDs, packed in a fully recyclable carton with an easy-twist top.

The brand takes safety, convenience and sustainability to the next level with the non-carbonated vodka premixes coming in resealable cartons – perfect for anti-spiking at festivals or in public gatherings.

They’re also easy to drink on occasion at home, able to be resealed and popped into the fridge for a cheeky nip now and then.

Oh, and on the diet front, Mandatory Twisted drinks have no added sugars, containing all natural flavours, and are just 72 calories per serve.

Like I said, oh how times have changed…
