Mmmm, simply loving the new smartphone models from Motorola

Motorola has certainly made its presence known on the smartphone market recently, with the release of several new models including the new moto g85 5G, available from today, and the edge 50 pro, which has been available for a couple of months now.
The Motorola moto g85 5G is the first in the moto range to feature an endless edge display, thanks to its premium ultrathin frame. Not only does this make viewing your phone’s screen more of an enjoyable and practical experience, the glass is most durable while the curved display seamlessly blends with the rear inlay and contoured sides of the phone.

Add to this, a fine vegan-leather finish, and you won’t believe this device is available for the budget-friendly price of just $399.
The launch comes as Motorola reaffirms its position as the third largest smartphone company in Australia for the second quarter of 2024.
The moto g85 5G is available in a variety of colours including olive green, cobalt blue, and urban grey – all in shatter-resistant PMMA finish.

Next up is a phone for the more serious smartphone user: the edge 50 pro. First up, the look of the phone is slick, once again a Motorola creation that boasts an endless edge display with premium ultrathin frame. Not only does the extra edge make viewing the screen a better experience, but the 6.7inch pOLED screen (ie: one with a plastic substrate base) features far more colour permutations than previous models – reportedly up to 1.7 billion colours, but who’s counting?
The Motorola edge 50 delivers images that are bolder in colour, sharper in resolution, basically better than previous model phones have done – and all without looking filtered.
Basically, photos from this beaut device will add that much-need sense of realness to your Insta feed. There’s also a suite of AI camera capabilities including adaptive stabilisation (sharper, clearer pics) and auto focus tracking (sharper, clearer videos).
Further on the technical front, the edge 50 pro has a Qualcomm SD7 Gen 3 processor, which means improved performance and better overall power efficiency. Powered by something called a Snapdragon® 6s Gen 3 processor (phew!) the moto g85 5G delivers smooth and fast performance. And fashionistas will love the four cool colours in comes in: ‘luxe lavender’, ‘moonlight pearl’, ‘black beauty’ or vanilla cream.

Speaking of colour, the edge 50 pro is the world’s first smartphone with PantoneTM Validated camera and display, meaning it has passed Pantone’s strict grading criteria for camera and display to maintain true colour fidelity. Graphic aesthetes will totally appreciate this.
In sum, whether you like to use your phone to browse the web, check in to emails, add your latest pics to social media channels, or stream that last bit of your favourite show on Netflix, the moto edge 50 pro and g85 5G are both viable mobile solutions, though the latter is far more serious on the visual front.
The Motorola moto g85 5G (RRP $399) and Motorola edge 50 pro (RRP $999) are available from select outlets such as JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, Officeworks, Amazon, and direct through motorola.com.au.
