Breaking down the themes of Madonna’s landmark album ‘Like A Prayer’ (the album turns 35 this year)

This year marks the 35th anniversary of Madonna‘s perennial album Like A Prayer.
Upon its release, ‘Like A Prayer’ received universal acclaim from music critics, who praised its introspective tone, cohesiveness, and Madonna’s increased artistic merit.
Five singles were released from the album in Australia, including Cherish, Keep It Together, Express Yourself, and the title track.
Cream magazine editor Antonino Tati sat down with ABC Radio to discuss the album’s themes of deconstructing Catholicism, coping with relationship breakups, and the power of self-expression.
