Sun’s out: so try the new ‘Brookie Range’ from Baskin-Robbins

The sunshine in Perth has been glorious this weekend, and the temperature up to 28 degrees. With this change in the weather, I’ve got two words for you. You might think I’m referring to sunscreen and shades, but these ought to be a given. My two words are Baskin-Robbins.

When the sun’s rays are felt as much as they have been this weekend, it’s the perfect weather for a scoop or two of ice cream – and Baskin-Robbins always has 31 interesting flavours to choose from (hence the 31 in their logo).

But beyond ice cream, the BR crew are now offering a dessert selection dubbed ‘The Bakehouse Brookie Range’. The “brookie”, in case you’ve not worked it out, is a cross been a brownie and a cookie, and Baskin-Robbins Brookie range includes a Brookie Sandwich, Brookie Pie and Loaded Brookie, all available now for a limited time only.

Today I tried the Brookie Pie: a warm choc-chip pie filled with melty caramel-fudge brownie, topped with Oreo® cookie crumbs, fudge chunks and, of course, your choice of ice cream. I went for the decadently textured pistachio-almond ice cream blend, which suited the caramel / fudge / cookie ingredients of the pie.

My partner tried the Brookie Sandwich: two brownie-textured cookies on either side of a slab of ice cream of your choice. The perfect choice between these chewy, crunchy, cookie treats is the gooey rich Butter Cake, currently Baskin-Robbins’ Flavour of the Month.

I’ll certainly be back again by the end of said month to sample the third in the range, the Loaded Brookie, pictured top of story.
