Cyndi Lauper announces Australian farewell tour for April 2025

If the purpose of a pop star is to leave a memorable mark on culture, Cyndi Lauper has done just that. Her song Girls Just Want To Have Fun has become as iconic as the artist herself – standing out as an anthem about unabashed enjoyment – as well as a postfeminist theme when you scratch the surface a little.

But Cyndi’s CV stretches way beyond that global smash hit, her voice as unique as her wild, wild looks. Time After Time, When U Were Mine, She Bop, I Drove All Night, True Colours, All Through The Night, Change of Heart… the list is long of the songs this pop icon has gifted us with.

Now Cyndi has announced her farewell tour of Australia, happening in April 2025 and presented by Paul Dainty/TEG DAINTY.

The artist will embark on a six-city Australian tour, taking her to Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, and Perth.  Alt-pop Aussie duo The Veronicas will join the tour as special guests.

This announcement follows Lauper’s incredible recent performance at Rock in Rio, where her energy and stage presence left fans in awe. Cyndi’s Farewell World Tour kicks off on October 18th in Montreal and will see her performing across the USA and UK before making her way to Australia. Fans are eagerly awaiting her return, as she bids a heartfelt goodbye to the stage.

The tour announcement also follows the release of Let The Canary Sing, a feature-length documentary film that explores Lauper’s extraordinary life and career. The documentary premiered exclusively on Paramount+ in June.
