THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

You’ve got to try Krispy Kremes packed and topped with delicious Pistachio Papi spread

I first discovered Pistachio Papi spread at Yo-Chi frozen yogurt bar and fell in love with it instantly. Whenever I’m at a Yo-Chi outlet, in fact, I stack lashings of Pistachio Papi on my generous-sized bowl of yogurt of the week (this week, Coconut). In the end, there’s so much of the good stuff that about a fifth of the product’s weight is due to the topping of Pistachio Papi.

So when a tray of doughnuts from Krispy Kremes arrived on my desk last week and I opened it to discover rows of doughnuts topped with (and filled with!) Pistachio Papi spread, you could imagine how over the moon I was. Here, I had to take it easy. Now I had a full tray of the good stuff – spread on top of, and squished within all those delicious-tasting pastries. Being on a semi-healthy tip of late (I’ve been doing more walking, and yoga-ing each morning), I ensured I enjoyed just one don-y a day. But, believe me, it’s sooooo difficult when the doughnut arrives in this form.

Pistachio Papi paste is an absolute dream for anyone who loves nutty, creamy, and subtly sweet flavours, made from a blend of delicious crushed pistachio nuts, and just a touch of natural vanilla flavouring.

The paste itself is smooth, velvety, and just the right consistency – not too thick, not too runny, and it’s spreadable enough to melt over toast or to swirl into desserts to make them creamier.

The pistachios are roasted to perfection, bringing out a kind of smokey flavor with a slight earthiness, while the sweetness is never overpowering. It’s a great ingredient to balance out the sweetness of a Krispy Kreme, so whoever came up with the concept was onto a winner from day dot.

If you like your doughnuts more on the ‘posh’ side, be sure to try a Pistachio Papi Krispy Kreme. Better still, get a Pistachio Overload Dozen for the family – it includes six limited-edition Pictachio Overload Doughnuts, and six Original Glazed Doughnuts to round out the taste (RRP $37.95 for a dozen doughnuts).

Available to buy in store, and to purchase online for same-day pickup, or delivery to selected locations until 3rd June 2025.
