It’s perhaps not so strange that something as brilliantly insidious as pop art should have its own day of recognition on the calendar. Today is, you see, International Pop Art Day which serves to to celebrate the Pop Art movement, which began in the 1950s and gained prominence in the 1960s, and is enjoying a resurgence today thanks to the many apps and filter options we have on our phones.
