THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

Kind Collective: a makeup range that is lovely in name, nice to nature, and great on the skin

What’s in a name? A lot if that name is Kind Collective – the Australian-owned beauty brand known for its ethical, affordable, vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics designed to enhance everyday beauty with a conscious mindset.

The brand was founded by two womeLynda Chapman and Pia Dwyer with a focuses on kindness to people, animals and the planet, using nourishing, plant-based ingredients and avoiding nasties such as parabens and bad sulfates. In fact, the Kind Collective holds PETA accreditation and B. Corp certification, reflecting its strong commitments to social and environmental responsibility.

But what about the products themselves? Do they shape up as quality in standard as their similarly priced counterparts? After testing a big batch of them, they certainly do.

Testing it out the Daydream All‑In‑One Palette (AUD25), this one-stop kit contains shades for both face and eye all in one compact. There are 7 powder pans including ‘bare’, ‘jet-set glow’ and cheeky rose, to create coordinated eye looks. The formulas are richly pigmented and blendable, and can see you going from natural daytime makeup to a more polished or glam look with just one palette.

Using brushes from the Complete Complexion Brush Set (AUD49) allows you to diffuse makeup, and work towards that precise pop of colour. It includes a foundation brush for smooth, streak-free coverage, and omplexion sponge for the perfect blend and finish.

Other favourites of ours include the brand’s various jelly lip glosses, lip liners and skin tints, and of course the Lash Love kit that’s sure to turn up the volume with its sharp mascara and complete with eyelash curler (a great price at just AUD20 for the pair).

To top off the already mentioned good-to-the-environment ethos, the Kind Collective also emphasise sustainability through mindful ingredients, compostable packaging, and a community-focused attitude.

All boxes ticked then. Speaking of which, the packaging – mostly in hues of pink – is just beautiful.
