Goodbye international-artist dominated charts: Sia tops a growing list of Australian acts on Spotify’s Global Impact List

Spotify Australia has today unveiled its Australian Music Global Impact List, covering the full calendar year for 2025, and for the first time, the list has expanded to recognise the Top 50 tracks from local artists with the biggest global impact on Spotify – outside of Australia.

The songs eligible were all released between January 1 and December 31, 2025, and many of these you’ll recognise (see the full list below).

The list highlights the continued growth of Australian music popularity, with streams outside of Australia of local artists’s works reportedly risen by 69% since 2020.

Global music star Sia has become the first artist to top the Global Impact List twice, with her David Guetta collaboration Beautiful People crowned the most-streamed Australian song last year. Sia previously claimed the #1 spot in 2023 with the song Gimme Love.

Perth-born act Tame Impala continue their strong track record on the list, with seven songs from their fifth studio album Deadbeat landing in the Top 50. The single Dracula is the band’s highest-placing track at #2, and, funny that, I was just enjoying hearing it while watching the lastest episode of Ryan Murphy’s The Beauty last night.

The Kid Laroi has also proved his continued popularity with global audiences, also placing seven tracks on the list.

The Top 10 also features alt-pop Sri Lankan-Australian singer and songwriter kiki wera, whose track Pool (Gravagerz Version) is part of the Top 10 spot, highlighting the diversity of Australian artists that are finding international audiences.

Remixes remain a powerful force globally, with The Temper Trap’s seminal hit Sweet Disposition enjoying renewed success via a Lost Frequencies remix which sits pretty at number 8, while Cyril’s cover of The La’s 1999 classic There She Goes lands at #16.

It’s good to see Spotify finally mixing things up for an international market, and great to see Australian artists up there with the most highly streamed.
