Carl Cox and Eric Powell’s Mobile Disco impresses Perth crowds at the Ice Cream Factory

DJ legend Carl Cox and disc-spinning pal Eric Powell presented their Mobile Disco at the Ice Cream Factory last week, delivering a feel-good night that saw plenty of genre-hopping and some serious getting down and partying.

Playing to an enthusiastic Perth crowd, the veteran DJs blended disco classics, soulful grooves and uplifting house into a seamless party soundtrack. Their chemistry behind the decks — built on decades of friendship and collaboration — was evident as they traded tracks and kept the dancefloor locked in.

As the night progressed, Cox raised the intensity with heavier house selections and crowd-pleasing moments, including a couple of acid-tinged cuts.

The outdoor venue added to the atmosphere, with smiles all round (I want what they were on), hands in the air, and a communal sense of celebration among the audience. By the time the final track faded just before 11pm, cheers rang out across the venue, with many wishing the set had continued longer. Overall, Mobile Disco proved why these two legends remain masters at crafting an endlessly danceable party experience.
