It’s in your eyes… Andy Warhol’s favouritism for Debbie Harry

Whenever Andy Warhol would finish one of his portraits, he’d add a little ‘realism’ to the stencilled work by dotting the eyes with white paint so that they looked like set lights were reflecting from the subject’s pupils. Debbie Harry (above, and detail, below) is the only subject whose ‘dots’ he purposely shaped into little love hearts. Cute, hey? AT
