Chicken Treat celebrates 50 years and brings back some classics

It’s been 50 years this year since Chicken Treat opened its first store in Western Australia. That was in 1976 with the store situated at 11 Great Northern Highway opposite the Midland Town Hall, founded by an entrepreneurial bloke by the name of Frank Romano.

Back then, folks were still getting around on rollerskates, and if it was fast food catering you wanted, you’d have to phone the order through from a landline, like, totally connected to a socket in the wall.

Oh, how times have changed, but some of the classics haven’t. You can still order the classic Chicken Treat chicken roll, for example or a yummy pineapple or banana fritter. In fact this week several meal boxes are being made available that capture the classic Chicken Treat essence.

The just-released Chicken Roll Box includes a Chicken Roll, two tenders, small gravy, crispy chips and a soft drink, while the Hawaiian Tender Box features a quarter rotisserie chicken, two tenders, a pineapple fritter, two banana fritters, small gravy, chips and a drink.
