Converse & Robert Indiana Collection

While Nancy Sinatra may have etched a primarily functional view of footwear in the public conscience, the fact remains the best shoes make a brazen aesthetic statement. It is not merely about getting around, but the style in which one does so that really matters. Converse’s latest project is a lucrative example of such. As part of (PRODUCT) RED’s initiative to raise funds for the Global Fund to help fight AIDS in Africa, the iconic shoe brand have teamed with American pop artist Robert Indiana in a collection inspired by original color iterations of Indiana’s celebrated ‘Love’ artwork. One of the original pioneers of the pop art movement, Indiana’s ‘Love’ motif is recognized around the world as a symbol of optimism, and this collection, featuring two models in black and white, is intended to enforce the message of hope.

There will be 12 pairs of each model released to the public at 10am AEDST on Wednesday 24th of March at http://www.converse.net.au to celebrate the launch of Converse’s new online home in Australia.
