Grab your Clark Kent specs – there’s a new Superman movie comin’ your way. Titled ‘Man Of Steel’ and scheduled for a June 14, 2013 release, the movie already looks to be a promising installment in the iconic and undying franchise. Fans will be thrilled to know that one of the film’s producers is none other than superhero savior Christopher Nolan. With Nolan on board, it’s safe to presume ‘Man Of Steel’ will be darker, edgier, and grittier than previous Superman flicks; a formula that worked well for the director in ‘The Dark Knight’.
We’re also excited because ‘Man Of Steel’ will introduce characters not seen on screen in a long time. The villainous General Zod, femme fatal Faora, and even Superman’s real parents make a return. And guess who’s playing Superman’s father? Our very own Russell Crowe. This is probably indicative of the franchise’s effort to present a grungier manor, as is having ‘Law And Order SVU’s Christopher Meloni play Colonel Hardy, while Henry Cavil will don the red cape to play the robust superhero himself. Amy Adams softens the edges as she steps into the shoes of Lois Lane. If only we had super powers to bring that darn date forward.
