New Aurelio Costarella concept space boasts an upcycled look
Perth designer Aurelio Costarella is anything but cheap, however he has gotten a little ‘frugal’ one might say in the design of his new concept space in the Perth CBD, seeing recycled and upcycled materials used in unexpected ways to decorate the pop-up store of sorts.
Designed by Anna Flanders, it actually all looks rather fabulous, with Flanders admittedly turning to pop-up outlets in NYC and Comme des Garcons’ temporary store in London’s Dover St Markets for inspiration.
“We didn’t want it to look like another store in the city where people think it is a permanent fixture. It had to look non-permanent and installed within the space, rather than looking part of the space.”
That said, there are high-end artworks peppered around the place that culminate to the tune of $23,000.
As for the fashion inside, it is all bona fide new but much of it of a vintage twist, and all definitively Aurelio.
Pop in for a looksee and you’ll never want to leave.
