Flick ‘96 Minutes’ a claustrophobic take on carjacking
Issues of crime, class, race and ruined relationships make up 96 Minutes, a film about a carjacking in Atlanta, US, with four kids caught in one major mess on the road.
The story builds to a climax as the movie intercuts between the claustrophobic setting of one car and the day’s previous goings-on of each character – where they come from, who they are, and how they all ended up together on this one fateful night.
Directed by newcomer Aimée Lagos – who previously worked on Big Fish, the film stars Brittany Snow, Evan Ross, David Oyelowo and Christian Serratos, and premiered to film festivals overseas to positive response.
