Festival crisis? What festival crisis? While some outdoor music festivals have suffered much over the past two years – some seeing tickets sales reducing drastically; others forced to shut business down entirely – Stereosonic appears to be going from strength to strength.

Soon after this year’s line-up was announced, ticketing website viagogo experienced an almost 300% spike in ticket searches, with around 400 searches per minute coming from Aussie fans.

Said viagogo spokesperson, Alex Levenson, “People are gearing up for a massive weekend of electronic dance music and viagogo is predicting this year’s festival will be a huge sell-out, with 47% more demand coming from Australian fans compared to last year.”

This year’s Stereosonic lineup boasts the likes of Calvin Harris, Tiësto, Diplo, Disclosure, Skrillex, Carl Cox (the first DJ this writer ever interviewed!), Booka Shade and Nina Las Vegas – to name but a handful. Check full billing and further details at www.stereosonic.com.au.

Stereosonic kicks off on 29-30 November in Sydney and Perth, followed by Adelaide on 5-6 December, wrapping up in Brisbane and Melbourne on 6- 7 December. This year marks the festival’s second edition as a two-day format across all five cities.  Antonino Tati
