Jurlique providing urban oases across the country…

Jurlique is one of the most trusted Australian beauty brands, having been delivering quality cosmetics since 1985. Founded in South Australia by Dr Jurgen Klein and his wife, Ulrike, the brand’s moniker is actually a phonetic amalgamation of the couple’s names. Clever, huh?
Not as clever as the company has been in keeping business booming in a very competitive industry. And it’s done so in three ways. Firstly, by keeping tried, tested and trusted products consistent in its cosmetics line since inception. Secondly, by continually introducing fresh solutions to contemporary cosmetic demands (note: allergies and the environment weren’t so much concerns 30 years ago as they are today). And thirdly, by opening salons across the country to stock their products while also providing quality treatments for clients.

Jurlique has spas right across Australia, each offering an extensive array of treatments, from 45-minute facials to two-hour-long pamper sessions. One of their most popular treatments is the Classic Signature Facial, a customised facial tailored to clients’ skincare concerns.
Before any treatment, your therapist goes through any particular conditions, allergies or concerns you might have (in my case, an aversion to lavender was considered in product selection).
Starting with a brush cleanse to deeply clean the skin and to boost microcirculation, the usual procedure of cleanse / exfoliate / mask / cleanse / moisturise was followed, but it is the ingredients in each product used that really impressed.
Jurlique’s Herbal Recovery Cleansing Mousse, for example, includes extracts of sesame, soy bean, grapeseed and safflower, while the Rosewater Balancing Mist unabashedly boasts delicate scents of rose and marshmallow. The Herbal Recovery Advanced Serum gets somewhat more rustic in its concoction with ingredients such as Albizia bark extract and fennel, liquorice root, and rosemary leaf extracts. Yes, it all sounds delicious enough to eat – but don’t.

Indeed, the incorporation of biodynamic ingredients is what makes Jurlique products unique and popular and, yes, I’m now a convert and fully stocked up with the best of this brand’s botanical-based products. Antonino Tati
