Art Gallery of WA presents an exhibition of comic art

The Art Gallery of WA (or AGWA) is proud to present ‘Comic Tragics’, an introspective look at at contemporary comic artists and their intense works.

The free exhibition features more than 150 examples of the most moving and compelling comic work being made internationally today from some of the medium’s boundary-pushing practitioners including Gabrielle Bell (US), Stephen Collins (UK), Aisha Franz (Germany) and Tommi Parrish (Australia).

Many of these artists have had their works published by major comic publishing houses such as Drawn & Quarterly and Reprodukt so you know the calibre is going to be right ‘up there’.

Works are presented in various stages from rough sketch to fully inked, some even via video.
