The clubs are alive with the sound of dance music

Over the next few weeks Australian dance music fans will be in heaven as some of the best acts in the business make their way to our fair shores. And it doesn’t matter what style of dance music you enjoy, all the ‘basses’ have been covered.
For those who like their drum’n’bass a little dirty, then Loadstar’s gritty, pounding dancefloor anthems will provide the perfect fix; and for those who like their d’n’b mixed with something a little different, Black Sun Empire and label-mates State Of Mind will be on hand to showcase their unique electronic stylings, with Brookes Brothers and Tantrum Desire bringing some soul and disco infused beats.
The purists haven’t been left out, either: if d’n’b is definitely your bag, Zombie Cats’ classic brand is for you; and for the electronica aficionados, Icicle’s technically advanced and flawless productions should have the right amount of thrill factor; not leaving out the dub-steppers, who will get to experience the sheer power of Spag Heddy first hand.
Even those fans who like their dance music to defy labels and limitations have been taken care of, with the genre-defying antics of Dirtyphonics sure to hit all the right notes.
So get out your calendars and circle the dates, and make sure you get to one of these events when it comes to town. Chris Prindiville
