13 Drag Demons and Darlings "RuVealed" for Season 9 of RuPaul's Drag Race
For those fans hungering for the fierce and the fabulous, a tantalising morsel for the latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race has been served up on social media this week. Entering its ninth season, the long-running competition series announced on its Facebook page a series of teasers hinting at the identity of each of this year’s contestants, along with a snappy video on YouTube (see above).
Thirteen drag demons and darlings have been “RuVealed” including Vegas girls Farrah Moan and Kimora Blac, New York queens Alexis Michelle and Sasha Velour, pageant beauty Trinity Taylor, renowned diva impersonator Charlie Hides, and the series’ first openly transgender contestant, Peppermint.
LogoTV is also unleashing a ‘Meet The Queens’ video for each contestant, day by day, so you can get to know the girls before the show begins airing in the US in March.
With season 9 not slated for release in Australia until some time in April, the RuPaul promotional machine will be keeping fans on their toes for a couple of months to come. But there is some good news just on the horizon, with the announcement that hostess with the mostest, Ru, will be releasing her new album later this week.
T.S Eliot might have called April the cruelest month, but thanks to RuPaul’s Drag Race, it looks more likely to be the campest, and that can be no bad thing. Chris Prindiville
Season 9 of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ has yet to be given an official air date for 2017.
