Blondie & Cyndi Lauper tour kicks off tonight

Few music acts leave a mark as platinum bright as Debbie Harry and her band Blondie, whose dents on the international charts include hit singles such as Call Me, Picture This, Rapture and Heart of Glass – just to name a handful.

So when news comes to hand that the diva and her band have landed in Oz to start their national tour with a show in Melbourne tonight, we’re already feeling the Atomic vibe.

That Blondie co-headlines with pop icon Cyndi Lauper makes anticipation for the show that much more exciting.

Having witnessed Debbie Harry perform live at a Swarovski store launch in Sydney a few years ago, I can vouch that the woman is as gutsy as ever in her performance delivery. Indeed, Debbie Harry rocks it as good as any of today’s poppets and rockette wannabes.

As for Cyndi Lauper, having seen her play live on various late-night shows recently, it seems she’s got the goods to deliver a set of amazing music and antics, too.

Along with shows in various capital cities, Blondie and Cyndi Lauper are also appearing at ‘A Day On The Green’ gigs around the country.
