Guitar Show

For those about to rock, the Melbourne Guitar Show 2017 is ready to salute you… and then some.

Returning this year bigger and better than ever, the 2017 edition boasts not only an incredible array of local guitarists, but also massive international artists, such as Canada’s renowned Nick Johnston and Brit superstar Alex Hutchings.

On top of all this, the MGS will also hold a monster exhibition that will include a gigantic variety of electric and acoustic guitars, effects pedals, and more state-of-the-guitar technology, both from home and around the world.

But wait, there’s more!

In addition to all this, there will be seminars, demonstrations, and live performances from some of Australia’s leading axemen, including Lloyd Spiegel, Nick Charles and Bob Spencer, with many more still to be announced.

This year will be extra special as the show honours a true guitar legend: the original guitarist of prog pioneers Genesis, Steve Hackett. In a special premium ticketed event, Hackett will play an exclusive acoustic set, a must-see performance for any guitar aficionando. The man himself will also hang around for a Q&A session – so make sure you have your questions ready.

With so much to take in, the 2017 MGS is gonna be a knockout. Let the countdown begin.  Chris Prindiville

The 2017 Melbourne Guitar Show runs across August 5 and 6 at Caulfield Racecourse.
