2017 might be drawing to a close – well, under two months to go – but the party season is only just getting started. And when it comes to parties, they don’t get much bigger than New Year’s Eve.
One NYE gig that’s popular on music lovers’ calendars is the ‘Freedom Time’ festival, popular already in Perth and Melbourne, and this year make its way to Sydney, too, for the big new year.
Renowned for its eclectic programming, positive energy and free-spirited atmosphere, ‘Freedom Time’ makes for a nice alternative to stale ol’ club venues.
And with some of the world’s more cutting-edge artists, producers and DJs on the bill, as well as the best local talent Australia has to offer, the good times are all but guaranteed. If these names don’t mean a lot to you, they ought to soon: Larry Heard, Johnny Osbourne, Bradley Zero, Nai Palm (pictured below), Sassy J, Silent Jay & Jace XL and more.
‘Freedom Time’ will be heading to its spiritual home in Northbridge, Perth for New Year’s Eve and to Melbourne’s Coburg Velodrome on New Year’s Day, and will then make its Sydney debut at the Manning Bar and Gardens on January 7, 2018. Chris Prindiville
