Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
With over 20 international hits under their belts and 80 million albums sold worldwide, we think it’s high time Eurythmics were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In fact, that’s just what might happen since the duo have been announced this week as a prime contender for the 2018 Hall of Fame induction.
In a clever gesture, Sony Music is re-releasing all eight of Eurythmics’ studio albums on vinyl, spanning the band’s entire career. Drum roll, please (well, electric drum roll, at least) for the timely reissuing of the following: In The Garden (from 1981), Sweet Dreams (1982), Touch (1983), Be Yourself Tonight (1985), Revenge (1986), Savage (1987) We Too Are One (1989) and Peace (1999).
For a trip down memory lane, DJ Earworm has created an 11-minute video ‘Eurythmix’ retrospective, sourcing 23 of the band’s better-known songs and clips from 1983 to 2005.
Watch the clip above, and relive pop, rock and electronica combined at its very best. Antonino Tati
