The organisers of renowned Australian short film festival, Tropfest, have just revealed the line-up for this year’s TropTalks, and heading the list is none other than Academy Award winnning super-actress Susan Sarandon. Yep, we’re just picking our jaws of the floor, too.

She who has starred in epic flicks such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Witches of Eastwick, Thelma & Louise, Dead Man Walking and oh-so many more, will grace our shores from February 13-16 to chat about all things cinema.

Joining Susan Sarandon in talks across Western Sydney University campuses will be Saroo Brierley, whose life story inspired the Golden Globe-nominated film Lion, along with Tropfest alumni Abe Forsythe, who is soon to star in the movie Little Monsters opposite Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o.

Other speakers on the schedule include Yolanda Ramke and Ben Howling, the duo behind Tropfest 2013 finalist film Cargo, which is currently being developed into Australia’s first Netflix Original feature, rising star Tysan Towney (Romper Stomper), and a host of other fledgling fab film-makers.

The spotlight is set to shine brighter yet on brilliant new Aussie film talent.  Antonino Tati

TropTalks is presented by Western Sydney University as part of a week-long series of events, including the Craft Awards, Launch Party, and Trop Jr; with the week coming to a spectacular finale with the Tropfest main event on Saturday 17 February at Parramatta Park.
