THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

Glamour! Danger! Freaks! The darker edge of sideshow

El Bizarro fringe world @2x

Roll up, roll up to El Bizarro: the sordid cabaret circus show that thrills and enthrals, bursting under the Gold Digger tent at the Perth Cultural Centre with a diverse sideshow of weird, andsexy burlesque, fiery and freaky circus.

This is cabaret not for the faint-hearted. No spoilers, but as energetic and highly entertaining ringmaster of ceremonies, Magnus Danger Magnus asks at the start: “Do you dare join us?”

As each act unfolds, we start the rollercoaster at an easy pace, no frightmare yet, treated with a performance by Boylesque Australia award-winner, Karl Kayoss, who suitably warms up the audience.

The ride then soars to dizzying heights, building to the ultimate Circus Carni’s sideshow creeps. Be warned, you are likely to watch the darker acts through your fingers, jaw-dropped, but like a trainwreck, you cannot look away!

Expect anything as the ride leads to a thrilling, blood-churning, adrenaline-pumping finale.

There are Fringe acts and there is Fringe extreme. Where else you will witness the spectacle of gritty human endurance, a rollicking bizarre, no holds-barred circus spectacular with a hell of an electric atmosphere?

Check out the rotating performance roster online and be prepared to be surprised.  Annette McCubbin

‘El Bizarro’ is on at the Gold Digger, Perth Cultural Centre until February 25.

Note: acts rotate nightly.

Tickets are available through www.fringeworld.com.au.
