Actress and activist Rose McGowan sent a special birthday message via Twitter to fallen producer Harvey Weinstein… and it’s a very scary one.
McGowan posted a video (above) in which she moves up close to camera and says in a dry voice, “Happy Birthday Harvey Weinstein… I told you we’d be coming. I told you 20 years ago if I heard of you doing this to another woman, we would come for you. I would come for you.”
The camera is then shifted even closer to her face, and McGowan stares directly into it as she says, “Happy Fucking Birthday from all of us”, then whispers “We win” with a wink.
Despite the fact the clip could pass as an audition tape for A Clockwork Orange 2.0, it arrives in perfect time to the Weinstein Company declaring bankruptcy today while it also frees all victims of any non-disclosure statements they were forced to sign.
Some of the thousands of people owed money by the bankrupt company include Robert De Niro, Malia Obama, Boris Becker, Daniel Radcliffe, even David Bowie.
Numerous companies also appear on the list including Amazon, Netflix, ABC, CBS and even charities such as the American Fund for AIDS Research and Autism Speaks.
Meanwhile, the pressure continues to build for the fallen producer, with calls to have Weinstein prosecuted on charges of sexual harassment (over 100 women have claimed this), investigation cases opened in London, Los Angeles and New York, and a litany of civil lawsuits that could ultimately see the 66-year-old financially ruined, let alone have his reputation even deeper in the mud.
Harvey Weinstein has so far denied the rape allegations made against him by Rose McGowan, and earlier this year said he possesses email correspondence between he and actor Ben Affleck to prove it. Whatever that might mean in the bigger picture… Antonino Tati
