‘Game of Thrones’ gets its very own Scotch whisky collection
While you wait for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones to reach your TV this April, and while the cooler months begin to kick in, you might like to indulge in a bevvy from the ‘Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection’ that pays tribute to one of telly’s most popular period series.
The Game of Thrones-inspired Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection hits bottle shop shelves this week, featuring seven Scotch whiskies – each paired with one of six of the iconic ‘Houses of Westeros’, as well as the ‘Night’s Watch’, giving fans an authentic taste of the ‘Seven Kingdoms’.
If all that means nothing to you, and you’re one of the handful of folk who’ve never watched an episode of ‘Game of Thrones’, rest assured the whiskies alone are well worth sampling.
Says Pedro Mendonca, Global Reserve Marketing Director of Diageo (the whiskies’ distributor), “We are always trying to find fun and interesting ways to introduce our Scotch portfolio and what better way than partnering with Game of Thrones, toasting [the new season] with whiskies that pay homage to some of the greatest characters and houses.”
Top-rated TV paired with a top-quality tipple? We’ll drink to that.
