Prince’s unfinished autobiography to finally be published in October
Book publisher Random House has announced it will be releasing Prince’s long-awaited autobiography in October, and that it is to contain the artist’s unfinished manuscript written before he died.
Prince first announced he was writing a memoir in 2016, just weeks before he died from an accidental overdose of painkillers, aged 57.
The memoir, titled The Beautiful Ones, will span Prince’s life from his childhood through to his final days as one of the most successful music acts of all time.
Random House have confirmed that, along with his chequered life story, the book will contain photos from Prince’s personal collection, bits from scrapbooks, and unseen lyrics, including his original handwritten treatment for his 1984 hit Purple Rain.

He told an audience at one of his concerts that Random House had made him “an offer I can’t refuse” and that he would commence writing with his very first memory, adding, “You all still read books, right?”.
