International audiences blown away by Kate Miller-Heidke: 9th place at Eurovision

Australian singer and all-round kookster Kate Miller-Heidke has placed ninth in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final.

Overnight in Tel Aviv, Israel, Kate took to the stage to perform her rousing, uplifting operatic pop song Zero Gravity along with 25 grand finalists from competing nations.

Duncan Laurence from The Netherlands was crowned Eurovision winner with his song Arcade being awarded 492 points. Italy took out second place, and Russia third place.

She was, of course, referring to the special FX that saw her and two stage ‘warriors’ floating, tilting and getting up to all manner of shenanigans on stage.

Said Kate, “Representing Australia at Eurovision has been a dream come true and to place ninth is beyond belief. Thank you to Australian voters for giving me the opportunity and to Europe for embracing Zero Gravity… and three flying warrior queens in space!”
