New Flintstones series in development, because the cartoon hasn’t been rebooted enough?

An animated reboot of The Flintstones is in early development, based on the original characters but yet set to appeal to adults more than kids.
Warner Bros. Animation and Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions will produce the series which will follow the misadventures of patriarch Fred Flintstone, his wife Wilma, daughter Pebbles and pet dinosaur ‘Dino’, along with his best buddy Barney and his family.
We’re kind of scratching our heads over why Banks would want to reboot a show that has already been tackled to, well, virtual extinction.
There’s no confirmed date for release, although it is most likely the series will air on one of the newer streaming channels as opposed to free-to-air.
Banks is also preparing to release a new film version of Charlie’s Angels, which she wrote, directed, and executive-produced in addition to starring as Bosley. Yes, a female version of Bosely, one of the many novel outcomes of the #metoo and TimesUp movements.
There have been several attempts at reviving The Flintstones for TV and film, and we’re kind of scratching our heads over why Banks would want to reboot a show that has already been tackled to, well, virtual extinction.
