THE NEW RETRO-MODERN

Sydney the first to be treated to ‘9 To 5: The Musical’ in April 2020

Samantha Dodemaide, Caroline O’Connor, Erin Clare, and Marina Prior star in ‘9 To 5: The Musical’.

The film 9 To 5 remains one of the funniest – and most pertinent – takes on post-feminism to have hit the big screen.

Now, Australian audiences can witness the absurdist – and yet still important – story of feminine revenge come to life when 9 To 5: The Musical hits the Sydney Lyric Theatre stage in April 2020.

Having opened at London’s Savoy Theatre in January this year, 9 To 5: The Musical enjoyed an initial 16-week run and managed to surpass all audience expectations that it’s been extended multiple times.

Inspired by the hit film about a trio of gals who team up to stand up to their sexist boss (and misogyny in general), ‘9 To 5’ is still timely within the current ‘TimesUp’ climate.

The Daily Mirror went on to say the show is “packed with laughs as big as Dolly [Parton]’s personality”.

Speaking of Dolly, see the effervescent icon herself give the show her blessing, below:

9 To 5: The Musical is written by Patricia Resnick, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and stars Caroline O’Connor, Marina Prior, Samantha Dodemaide and Erin Clare in its lead roles.

Expect a great show from some great talent.
