Lovers of local psych-rock will be thrilled to learn that Perth outfit Tame Impala will embark on their biggest ever tour of Australia and New Zealand, kicking off in Auckland on Thursday 16 April, 2020.
The band then travel to Brisbane, followed by Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and home to Perth (see full dates and venues below).
Led by multi-instrumentalist and singer Kevin Parker, Tame Impala have established themselves as one of Australia’s most entertaining live acts. A meditative, light-infused party of psychedelic euphoria, their live experience is loved by fans and critics alike – last year having headlined gigs such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Primavera, and Splendour in the Grass.
Joining Tame Impala on all dates are Texan genre-defiers, Khruangbin, the sunny instrumental three-piece sure to warm crowds with their own mind-expanding show.
In response to recent bushfire tragedies, Tame Impala will be donating part proceeds from all shows to bushfire relief efforts. Says Parker, “In the past few weeks I’ve been devastated to see what’s been happening with the fires at home and we want to do our bit to help, so we’re going to be donating $300,000 to bushfire relief charities.”
