Nike releases loud and rather ugly shoe “inspired” by Kobe Bryant
Three months after the death of basketball icon Kobe Bryant, footwear brand Nike has released its ‘Mamba Fury’ shoe inspired by the sports star.
The shoe is loud, garish in colour (red, black and splodged yellow) and too ostentatious to be worn by anyone over 29.
Nike noticed that in the month following Kobe’s passing, there was a massive demand for Bryant merchandise and so set into action manufacturing the new shoe. Bryant had worn the brand’s shoes for much of his career.
The ‘Mamba Fury’ is available for just under $US100 and was revealed via Instagram over the weekend.
The shoe is not currently available on the Nike website.
In my personal opinion, the shoe is loud, garish in colour (red, black and splodged yellow) and too ostentatious to be worn by anyone over 29.
Kobe Bryant was 41 when he died earlier this year on January 26th.
