Giant gaming ‘Convention’ PAX announced as an online event for 2020
It’s one of the biggest gaming conventions held in cities across the globe, and this year PAX will bring its first online event to a global gaming community from September 12-20.
Due to post-Covid restrictions, the PAX Online Experience will replace PAX Aus and PAX West but believe us when we say there will be huuuuuge fan-favourite content 24 hours a day, over all 9 days. And the best bit: it’s all free.
There’ll be surprising game reveals, hands-on demos, thrilling e-sports tournaments, a carefully curated selection in the Indie Showcase, as well as new partnerships bringing the virtual show floor to life as ReedPOP and Penny Arcade translate their creative vision into an accessible new format.
If all this sounds like a scaled-down version of a usually huge physical event, consider it a part of ‘reality gaming’ – where we get to test new games in our most natural environment… the living room couch!
“First and foremost, PAX has always been about the incredible community created by everyone involved, from the attendees, panelists, exhibitors, and our amazing enforcers,” said Jerry Holkins, co-founder of PAX.
“PAX Online will recreate that shared experience, along with everyone’s other favourite elements from game eveals, exclusive hands-on experiences, the chance to hear from and speak with game developers, journalists as well as content creators, and more.”
PAX merchandise will also be made available, featuring 2020 designs of letterman jackets, hoodies, pins and more.
If you’d like to be involved in a PAX panel, submissions are open to submit today and will close July 24th.
