Tasting Australia announces culinary icon Darren Robertson as Festival Food Curator for 2021
Who wouldn’t want to take part in 10 days of enjoying fine foods while pairing these with the best beverages Australia has to offer?
Tasting Australia is a 10-day eating and drinking festival hosted in Adelaide and its surrounding wine regions and breweries, which happens annually, presented by RAA Travel.
This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions (and sensible thinking!) Tasting Australia has taken a hiatus but it will be back in full swing in 2021, being hosted from April 30th to May 9th.
Just last week, Tasting Australia announced that Byron Bay based culinary icon Darren Robertson has been appointed as Festival Food Curator.
Darren brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the food industry, having begun his career at the Michelin-starred Gravetye Manor in England, then moving to Australia in 2011 to helm the kitchen at Sydney institution Tetsuya’s.
“Darren is the ideal fit for the Food Curator role,” says Festival Director Simon Bryant. “He truly lives and breathes the same values as the festival which means he can genuinely share and strengthen the Tasting Australia story to a global audience.”
Says Darren himself: “I’m absolutely thrilled to come back to South Australia for Tasting Australia as Food Curator in 2021. For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most interesting, inspiring, creative and talented people – and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to invite them to be
a part of this world class event.”
Announcements of other culinary stars who’ll be appearing at Tasting Australia 2021 will be made over the coming months but for an idea of who might be making a reappearance, check out the impressive list of past alumni here.
