Movies under the stars: more Moonlight magic throughout February

A lot of people have avoided going to social events simply because they can’t be bothered putting on a mask. Which is why it’s wonderful that we have outdoor events like Moonlight Cinemas where wearing a mask isn’t mandatory and where there’s space aplenty to maintain social distancing. It also helps that it’s a very enjoyable event and that, this year, the program is packed with more variety than ever before.
Experience the best movies under the stars with a jam-packed program of summer blockbusters, family flicks, cult classics and indie favourites.
This year’s program includes top new releases such as Dune, House of Gucci, The King’s Man, The Matrix Resurrections, Licorice Pizza, Nightmare Alley, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
Fan favourites also feature, including such faves as Clueless, The Notebook, Notting Hill, and Crazy Stupid Love, plus there are a couple of singalongs to get into the musical spirit – Grease and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, to name a couple.
Moonlight offers gourmet-style fast food, bars and the comfiest of bean beds for humans and their four-legged friends. This summer, there are a range of packages on offer, such as the Tia Maria Platinum Experience (available at Sydney, Melbourne & Perth) where you and your partner can sink into a premium double bean bed situated in an exclusive area with prime viewing. Tickets include food and beverages delivered to your seats including an exclusive grazing box and Tia Maria cocktails, take-home blankets and Parlour Lane popcorn. Yum!
Or you might like to opt for the AAMI ‘Gold Grass’ package, with comfy bean beds situated at the front, deluxe waiter service offering premium wines and scrummilicious Parlour Lane popcorn. Yum! Yum!
Or, for ice cream lovers, there’s the Connoisseur Lounge which includes a reserved bean bed in an exclusive area and a delicious Connoisseur Gourmet Ice Cream stick.
Otherwise, bring your own beanbag, food to eat, and drinks to indulge in – just be sure to leave your spot clean at the end of the night.
Grab a picnic blanket and cheese platter, bring along your loved one or a friend of two, and get into some seriously good cinema-watching.
