A sneak preview of Frozen the musical on at Crown Theatre from August 25
Last night, an audience of avid musical goers and select media were treated to a sneak peek of Frozen, the Hit Broadway Musical that kickstarts its Perth season on August 26.
Broadway might be miles away but the talent on board for this particular production looks like beating even some of Manhattan’s highest standards.
Starring as Elsa is Jemma Rix – one of Australia’s more prominent leading ladies of musical theatre, best known for her portrayal of Elphaba in Wicked. Jemma belted out a huge torchsong tune to wild applause and is certainly the right gal for the main part.
Queensland Conservatorium graduate Courtney Monsma plays Elsa’s sister Anna. Courtney brings with her experience from the Australasian tour of Disney’s Aladdin, and proved she’s got the chops and glamorous style to play 2IC in this show. Courtney performed with Thomas McGuane as Hans, bringing with him experience as a former Jersey Boy on stage, as well as work in Bring It On.
Frozen will hit the Crown Theatre stage on August 25 and is brought to Perth audiences by the producers of Aladdin, The Lion King and Mary Poppins. So you know this production will be huge.
