Madonna confirms she will be releasing a new album, a sequel of sorts to ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor’

Twenty years on from releasing her club-infused album Confessions on a Dance Floor, Madonna has announced she is recording and will be releasing Confessions Part 2.
In a Valentine’s tweet this week, the queen of pop announced that she is putting her “heart and soul” into new music” and that she cannot wait to share it with fans.
Confessions on a Dance Floor was the tenth studio album by Madonna and was praised by fans and critics alike. The album took on a kind of clubby, even compilation feel, where some songs segued into the next, all brilliantly mixed and mastered by Stuart Price. It was a complete departure from her previous LP American Life which featured more acoustic-type tunes and grindier uptempo tracks, some of which were actually blasted by fans and critics alike.
Songs from Confessions on a Dance Floor still stand out as being very, very good, including Hung Up (which sampled ABBA’s Gimme Gimme Gimme), Sorry (which was remixed excellently by Pet Shop Boys), Jump, Sorry, Get Together and more.
It is being touted by many that Confessions Part 2 will too feature a strong uptempo vibe, with producer Price reportedly on board again.
Whether the artist goes full hyper-pop with the songs – in the aim of keeping up with the ‘new sound’, or if she brings something new to the airwaves, Spotify lists and chart, we’ll just have to wait and see.
After all, while Madonna is known to draw influence from genres and artists aplenty, she’s also been known to kick off a trend or two.
