THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

A cool new coffee concept in a fab collab between Nespresso and Messina gelato

Coffee lovers, you’re going to have to pour yourself a cuppa, sit back and soak in the following news.

You may already have heard that Nespresso have been hosting a pop-up event of sorts in a collaboration with gelato geniuses at Messina – dubbed “an immersive iced coffee playground” – at the Nespresso Lab in Pitt Street, Sydney, where visitors have gotten to enjoy innovative coffees on the menu (Coconut Vanilla, anyone?) as well as enjoying a mix of chill and groove, and even indulging in a bit of arcade-game playing.

The gigs have been so successful – particularly the affogato items on the menu – that Nespresso is now setting up pop-up affogato stations in stores far and wide across Australia. Designed for a new generation who are swapping late nights for morning or afternoon rituals, each daytime event blends complimentary sips and beats for an ideal hangout.

The Pistachio Affogato.

Nespresso x Messina affogato stations will pop up at 14 Nespresso boutiques on select Saturdays throughout March between 11am – 2pm, offering complimentary Pistachio & Vanilla flavoured affogatos to coffee lovers during their shop. See the list of participating boutiques below.

Visitors can expect bold iced coffee recipes like Pistachio Mocha and the ever-popular Ice Leggero. Yes, yes, we’re aware that summer just ended a couple of days ago but you can only assume that the hot, hot heat is going to go on for another month, so some cool inspired coffees are in order, wouldn’t you say?

The Pistachio Mocha.

Fun fact: coffee has been identified as Australia’s number one social drink of choice (40% of survey respondants said so). This is ahead of a raft of beverages including water (34%), beer (32%) and wine (31%). The research also revealed that 71% of Aussies are currently making coffee at home – 73% of which do so for budgeting reasons.

There you have it. Now go and discover some innovatively flavoured brews.
