Welcome to Volume 2 of Found Objects, an audio odyssey that does what Dolby Atmos only attempts to achieve. Each day a new track will be added, building up to a compilation of remixes that go beyond the normal parameters of music mixing.

Slip on a pair of earbuds or headphones and be transported into worlds of aural delight and mad sonic adventure. A musical universe where cool beats are paired with snippets of vintage educational, fun radio ads of the ’60s, and classic film quotes from the ’50s and beyond.

Found Objects is celebrates the return of the remix and the art of sampling (ie: found audio). Australian audio artist (and Cream magazine editor) Antonino Tati layers words of wit (and occasional dimwittedness) over alternative, preloved mixes of songs. As the Ultimate Eurythmics Archives writes, “it’s a series of imaginative audio collages that feel part remix, part radio drama, and part pop culture time capsule.”

Each track is an awesome head trip. Good to show off on the playlist. And the music featured is varied, with Volume 02 containing reproductions of mixes of songs by Soulwax, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Tori Amos, R.E.M., Air, Les Rythmes Digitales, Lily Allen, Malcolm McLaren, and more.

Next up in Volume 2 is college rockers R.E.M., remixed by Germano and re-remixed by Antonino Tati. If you’ve seen Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange you might find some of the dialogue here familiar. The advertising snippets for Orange Crush are just a bonus!
