Well, it’s official. American television network HBO has formerly placed an order today for a Game of Thrones prequel series.
Titled House of the Dragon, the series will run across 10 episodes and will trace the early days of House Targarven, starting from a whopping 300 years before the original series was set.
George R. R. Martin’s companion book ‘Fire & Blood’ will serve as a template for the new series.
“The Game of Thrones universe is so rich with stories and we look forward to exploring the origins of House Targaryen and the earlier days of Westeros,” said HBO Programming President, Casey Bloys, in a media statement.
The original Game of Thrones ended with Season 8 back in May.
