Harvey Weinstein tests positive for Coronavirus; currently in isolation in New York prison
Harvey Weinstein, who is currently incarcerated in a New York prison, has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Weinstein is one of two inmates to test positive for the virus in New York’s Wende Correctional Facility, according to officials.
The 68-year-old disgraced movie mogul was hospitalised for chest pains earlier this month and is currently being isolated at the maximum-security prison.
Weinstein was likely to have been carrying the virus when he was transferred from Rikers Island last Wednesday and all appropriate officials involved in his transfer have now been informed.
Weinstein was immediately put into isolation at Wende prison after testing positive for COVID-19.
Harvey Weinstein had only just begun his 23-year prison sentence last week. His lawyer and other spokespeople have said they were unaware of the diagnosis until last night.
