Taylor Swift to release new ‘hippy’ style album called ‘Folklore’
Who says musicians are resting on their laurels during Covid lockdown?
Taylor Swift made the surprise announcement this morning that she’ll be releasing a full brand-spanking new album at midnight tonight (US PT time).
The artist’s surprise record features contributions from Aaron Dessner of The National, Bon Iver, and Jack Antonoff.
Far from the usual gloss and shine of Swift records, the album has been titled Folklore, and will possess more of an acoustic, unplugged bent – which is want for when you’re stuck indoors without the usual full studio gadgetry.
Taylor announced the new album via Twitter and says she wrote and recorded all the songs for the LP over the past four months while in quarantine.
Hours before releasing the album, Taylor will release a music video for the cosily titled single Cardigan.
Just what her winter-bound Australian fans would love to hear, I’m sure.
